Tony's Effective Techniques for Spotless Carpets

Kilmarnock Cleaning Services

Here at A2B Cleaning Services, we know how much joy carpets bring to a home. They add a touch of comfort and warmth, but muddy footprints and everyday spills can leave them looking worse for wear.

Don't despair! A2B Cleaning Services is here to help! In this blog, we'll share some of Tony's favourite DIY carpet cleaning hacks using ingredients readily available from your local Tesco, Asda or Sainsburys.

First Line of Defence: Blot, Don't Scrub!

Accidents happen! When faced with a fresh spill, act fast! Grab a clean, absorbent cloth (microfibre cloths work wonders) and blot up as much of the liquid as possible. Resist the urge to scrub, as this can spread the stain.

Tony's Top Tip:

For stubborn stains, baking soda is your knight in shining armour. Sprinkle a generous amount over the affected area, leave it for 30 minutes, then vacuum it up.

Banishing Biscuit Crumbles: The Power of Baking Soda

For everyday dirt and crumbs, baking soda comes to the rescue again! Sprinkle it over your carpet, leave it for an hour (or overnight for a deeper clean) and then vacuum thoroughly. This simple trick will leave your carpets feeling fresh and revived.

Dealing with Dirt: The Vinegar Solution

For a more thorough clean, we recommend a homemade vinegar solution. Mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a spray bottle. Lightly mist the affected area (avoiding drenching the carpet), then blot with a clean cloth.

Remember: Always test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the carpet first to ensure it doesn't cause discolouration.
